Jam Postmortem

Well a lot of things did go right with this project. I learned quite a bit to, both about the me as a person and the GDevelop Engine as well. In the end I don't think I made what I really wanted to deliver. Originally I had the idea that I would populate the world with buildings and such due to the static green background being disorientating (I guess). Although, I did enjoy making what I made. It was a lot of fun and most of the core elements I was able to make.  I don't consider the game complete, there are still a lot of things I would like to see done in the game. Like the buildings I just mentioned, a better grass texture (the green background is supposed to be grass), streets, cars, obstacles, and much more. Overall I view this as a partial success. The only things I do remember that went wrong was scripting the AI. You see originally I wanted the AI to follow the player, but keep a min distance. I couldn't figure this out so I just went with what worked at the time. That goes for the enemies and the ally units. I struggled trying to balance the players speed vs the enemies speed, I eventually made it to where every (I think) 60 seconds the players speed is reduced. I did this thinking it would be a way to emulate the player character getting more tired, but I don't know if it made much sense.

All in all the jam was fun, but I hope I can make the game better in the future. Thank you all for playing and rating the game, have a nice and lovely day!
